Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0, Get Free LPG Gas Connection : The second installment of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched on 10 August. Around 8 crore LPG gas connections have already been provided through this scheme. In this second installment plan, about 1 crore more LPG gas connections will be provided.

In May 2016, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOPNG) launched Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) as a flagship scheme aimed at providing cooking fuel to rural and underprivileged households to have access to clean gas systems like LPG. The use of traditional cooking fuel has harmful effects on the health of rural women as well as the environment.
Under the Union Budget for the financial year 21-22, the Central Government made a provision to release an additional 1 crore LPG connections under the PMUY scheme. Release of 8 crore LPG connections under this scheme has also helped in increasing LPG coverage from 62% on 1st May 2016 to 99.8% on 1st April 2021.
Who can benefit from Ujjwala 2.0 scheme?
- SC/ST families, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), forest dwellers, Most Backward Classes (MBC), tea and ex-tea plantation tribes, people living in river islands
- If she does not fall in the above 2 categories, she can claim to be a beneficiary under poor family by submitting a 14-point declaration (as per prescribed format).
Required Document For Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0
- KYC bearing applicant's photograph as per standard format and duly signed.
- Proof of identity
- address proof
- Aadhaar copy of the applicant
- Aadhaar copy of all adult family members mentioned in ration card or similar document
- Bank account details of the applicant
- Self-declaration as per Annexure-I in lieu of ration card to ensure family composition in case of migrant applicants.
- Supporting document, if attachment is applied under any of the seven categories (i.e. beneficiaries of SC/ST families, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) (Rural), Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), Forest Dwellers, Most Backward Classes (MBC) So, T and X-T Garden Tribes, people living in River Islands).
- 14-point declaration in support of poor family duly signed by the applicant as per given standard format.

Eligibility For Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0
- Applicant (female only) should be 18 years of age.
- There should be no other LPG connection from any OMC in the same house.
How to Apply Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 ?
- Online: Customer can register through online application or he can also approach his nearest CSC center to submit online application.
- Offline: Customer can register by submitting application directly to distributorship.
