Animal Interest Subsidy Scheme

This scheme is one of the schemes under the Animal Husbandry schemes launched by the Government of Gujarat. The main objective of this scheme is to give importance to the profession of pastoralists and make it a pillar of employment in the village. To further boost animal husbandry business at village level through economic incentives to double the income of animal husbandry by the year 2022 through this scheme.The bank provides interest subsidy up to a maximum of 12% on the cost of the unit of animal or the loan granted per unit to purchase the animal, whichever is lower, for a period of five years. Online application has to be done on I khedut portal to avail the benefit of this animal husbandry scheme.

Animal Interest Subsidy Scheme: Benefits

Under this scheme, interest subsidy of up to 12% is given on loans taken for purchase of 1 to 20 milch cows. No loan is given to the animal husbandry through this scheme. But if the animal husbandry has taken any loan for purchase of milch cattle during the year 2022-23, he gets 12% assistance in the interest of that loan. This assistance is available on a loan tenure of up to 5 years.

Eligibility Criteria for Animal Interest Subsidy Scheme

• The applicant should belong to the state of Gujarat.
• A cattle rearer should have taken a loan from a nationalized bank for the purchase of 1 to 20 milch cows.
• This loan should be taken during the year 2022-23.
• The cattle rearers will have to apply online to avail the benefits of this scheme.
